Mr. Jatila Ranasinghe – Director of Power, is a power and energy veteran and seasoned investor. He spent 20+ years at General Electric’s Power business and was the global head of gas turbines and combined cycle power products, deploying over $300 million annually for new products. Most recently, Jatila was Managing Director and head of power at New Fortress Energy, where he led and deployed billions in LNG and clean energy infrastructure projects. Jatila has also accumulated over 43 patents to his name, applying his engineering expertise to problems ranging from developing the first H-class combined-cycle gas turbine power plant in Japan to handling quality assurance related to a major fleet issue.

At New Fortress Energy, he managed a portfolio focused on energy and infrastructure, evaluating new hydrogen technologies for investment. He led a team working toward the goal of becoming a leading global producer of lower-emission energy.

He has a Master’s and Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering from Oregon State University, USA, and a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering from the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka.
