How NovaDry Was Developed

Novastus founders Kelly Warbis and Michael Idelchik spent years exploring and evaluating conventional technologies to turn waste into energy.

Unfortunately, they all fell short.  Conventional technologies failed to efficiently reduce moisture and turn inconsistent feedstock into a usable fuel.

With the discovery of our proprietary NovaDry system, our founders created a technology that addressed those issues - it uses off-the-shelf equipment to dry and pulverize waste without any heat or pressure.

They funded the development of our first waste processing facility in Cookeville, TN which has demonstrated reliable performance and consistent production of NovaFuel since 2021 using MSW and other waste feedstocks.

Working with experts at MIT, the Department of Energy, and leading engineering firms in waste-to-energy, the technology advanced to the highest level of technology readiness, making it ready for commercial operations.

In 2024, the team began to commercialize the technology and is working with partners across the world to deploy NovaDry systems and Total Material Recovery Facilities to divert waste from landfills and eliminate the harmful methane emissions it causes.
